You hear a lot these days about the ‘greening of America’. Here at Fairview Evergreen Nurseries, Inc.,
we’ve been growing green since our founding by Frank C. Hetz in 1911. Frank’s fledgling Christmas tree venture utilized farm produce crops and a beef cattle operation that, to this day, produces the environmentally responsible manure compost so crucial to the vitality of our ornamental nursery stock. Our extensive farming operation and crop rotation system allow us to rest ground and rebuild soil content to keep our land as fertile and productive as possible. We are family farmers, and the concept of environmental stewardship is nothing new to us.
Our customers are the benefactors of this stewardship. Our B&B evergreens, deciduous shrubs, shade trees, container plants and lining out stock are considered to be the most viable and consistent stock available in our industry. As we head into our 97th year on the south shore of Lake Erie, we are also forging ahead with new product lines in our container operation. What started as an experiment over ten years ago is now a big part of our expansion on the western edge of our property. A recently purchased 60 acre farm will serve as the new home of container production. This state of the art facility will provide you with that same quality plant material you have come to expect from Fairview Evergreen. .
We always enjoy the opportunity to show off our 3500 acres, 1400 of which are planted to nursery stock,
so please call us to plan a visit any time that your travel plans allow it. We are very lucky to be part of an industry where customers quickly become friends; we look forward to nurturing those valued long-term relationships and creating new ones in 2008!
